Ritual Outline:
These are most commonly the 13 steps I use when I write a ritual or a spell for that matter.

1. Ritual bath or shower:
Add scents that are appropriate to your workings (see sample spell) I also add salt for purification.

2. Bless water & salt for altar:
Dip your finger into your dish of water: "I cast out negativity, fear & doubt" while physically removing some of the water. "May this water be blessed with love, nurturing, & understanding" while visualizing a white light.
Do same thing for salt.

3. Asperging:
Walk deosil (clock-wise) around altar sprinkling the blessed water.

4. Sweep:
I usually sweep my space with my magikal broom. My magikal broom is a lovely cinnamon broom that my mother gave me.

5. Censing:
I light one incense cone for my altar and loose incense for my cauldron. I (don't laugh) put the cauldron on the floor and stand over the incense and let the smoke waft up between my legs to purify my womb.

6. Open circle:
I can't remember where I got this from:
Around, around, around about.
Good stays in, bad stays out.
I cast this circle, So mote it be.
Of Earth, Air, Fire, and the Sea.

7. Calling Quarters:
This is the quarter call I use you can change it to suite how you feel:
I call to me the Guardians of the Watchtowers of the North; rulers of Earth & Winter.
I call to me the Guardians of the Watchtowers of the East; rulers of Air & Spring.
I call to me the Guardians of the Watchtowers of the South; rulers of Fire & Summer.
I call to me the Guardians of the Watchtowers of the West; rulers of Water & Autumn.

8. Calling Lord & Lady:
I invite thee Lady. Mistress of Light & Strength into my circle (light candle)
I invite thee Lord. Master of Light & Courage into my circle (light candle)

9. State Purpose:
This is where you tell the Gods why you have asked them to come.

10. Magikal Work:
The Nitty Gritty comes in here ;-) The actually magikal workings.

11. Meditation/Sharing:
As a solitaire I have no one to share with so I use this time to meditate on what I just did, and reinforce the power in my magik. But in most covens this is a time of sharing and some meditate too.

12. Wine & Cakes:
I got this from Paganpath.com:
Hold decanter of drink "I offer this [wine, juice, etc] to honor your ways & my gratitude for your unselfish gifts.
Pour drink "Blessings to thee" drink.
Hold platter of cakes up " I offer these [cakes, cookies, etc] to honor your sustaining ways and my gratitude for your divine energy"
Put cakes on plate "Blessings to thee" eat.
*Put some drink into a small thimble or pour directly on ground as additional offering.
*Put small piece of cake on small plate ot directly on ground as additional offering.

13. Close Circle:
While walking widdershins (counter-clockwise) around circle:
Around, around, around about
Good stayed in , bad stayed out
I close this cricle, So mote it be
Of Earth, Air, Fire, and the Sea
